DAILY NEWS: First reported NYC homicide victim of 2022 is woman dead of stabbing in Queens
New York’s first reported homicide of 2022 is a stabbing death police investigated in Queens on Saturday night.
A report of an assault around 8:35 p.m. at the corner of 23rd St. and Broadway in Astoria led officers to a woman who had suffered multiple stab wounds, police said.
The woman was lying on the sidewalk unconscious and unresponsive, said cops.
EMS arrived and rushed the woman to Mount Sinai Queens, where she was pronounced dead.
On Sunday cops were still working to determine the woman’s identity and had no information on a motive....

NEW YORK POST: Woman and her dog killed by lone gunman in Brooklyn
A 36-year-old woman and her dog were killed by a lone gunman in Brooklyn on Sunday night, police and sources said.
The woman was targeted by the attacker as she was walking her pit bull near the intersection of Dekalb and Franklin avenues in Bedford-Stuyvesant at about 9:45 p.m., according to cops and sources.
The suspect shot the woman in her torso before pumping a bullet into the animal....
