The Red Cross statement, says the not for profit responded to 294 single- and multiple-family fires in the Bronx and provided assistance to 1,859 individuals in 2021.
There have been 29 fires in the Bronx this year.
In-person and virtual preparedness programs will be conducted in 15 languages.
They will help families prevent fires and teach kids about taking action during emergencies.
The Red Cross will also work with the FDNY to install free smoke detectors in homes and provide fire safety education.
The New York Yankees and New York City Football Club are helping to fund the program.
