SQUEEZE PLAY: The City Plans To Renovate The Park Avenue Medians And Drivers Are Upset

MAJOR MAKEOVER: The city Transportation Department is looking into proposals that would revamp the flower-filled malls that run between Grand Central Terminal and 57th Street.

The city wants to expand the width of the medians and two lanes of traffic would be reduced along some blocks, leaving only two running in each direction.

Pedestrians are currently barred from the medians, but the renovations could add benches, walking or biking paths.
