QUEENS: An FDNY Firefighter Arrested For Bringing An Assault Rifle And “Ghost Gun” Parts To New York
STING OPERATION: A surveillance team followed the firefighter to a gun show in Philadelphia.
There, Martin paid cash for two gun components used to make guns without serial numbers that can’t be traced, also known as “ghost guns.”
Court records also state he further bought high capacity magazines and a Siphai semi-automatic 12-gauge assault shotgun with an American flag pattern at the gun show.
Once Martin crossed from Pennsylvania into New York via Interstate 95, the team surveying him pulled him over and arrested him.
The FDNY suspended him without pay for 28 days following his arrest.
