MANHATTAN: Bronx Woman Pummels Man After He Sucker-Punched Her Four-Year-Old Child In Times Square

NEW YORK CITY: Rafaela Rivera, 42 went into mama bear mode when a career criminal hit her little boy named angel in the head.

She tackled 34-year-old Babacar Mbaye to the ground and did not let go of him until police arrived at the scene on the corner of 46th Street and Seventh Avenue.

Mbaye was charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest, and was booked into the Eric M. Taylor Detention Center.

He's being held on $30,000 bail and is scheduled for a court hearing Wednesday.

The incident is the latest in a string of violent crimes in New York City, with transit attacks spiking 65.3percent in the year to date compared to 2021.

Felony assault and grand larceny rising 18.4 and 66.8percent, respectively, during the same period.
