LAWSUIT: A Staten Island mother of five was fatally struck by a large gravestone at a Graniteville cemetery in the fall of last year.
Elvira Navarro, 53 — while working for a third-party company — “was suddenly and without warning struck by a large falling gravestone,” according to the suit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court.
She was working alongside her son, Anthony Rosales, when the stone toppled over at the 80-acre Baron Hirsch Cemetery , located at 1126 Richmond Avenue.
Her family is seeking unspecified damages against the Baron Hirsch Cemetery Association for allegedly failing to maintain the site.
